My son is doing absolutely fine and he will be 7 months old this 14th June. He recognizes us and is attempting to talk to us. He now rolls if we keep him on the floor and he now knows that he can reach anywhere by rolling himself. My wife says that now he will not crawl as he finds this easy......She is doing fine and has resumed work from the 1st of March. We are now in the process of looking out for a baby- care maid and hope we finally get somebody whom we can rely on. It's rainy season here and it's going to be a good break from the scorching heat. Bye for now. Cheers.
Saturday, November 15, 2003 Hi, We have finally made it. My wife delivered a baby boy last night at around 2150hrs.(IST). It was done through C -section as the cord had gone around the baby's neck. Both are doing fine now and the baby is weighing around 7 pounds. With regards to the Fibroid, the size has reduced and the doc has said that we will take care of it in due course. As of now it is not much of a hindrance. Please do inform Mike about it. I take this opportunity to thank you for all the moral support that you gave me. I now recollect the day I had sent you my first mail regarding my concerns about the Fibroid and here we are now.....I have some tale to tell my little one...... Thanks a ton once again. I will be in touch with you and keep you updated of further developments. Bye for now..
Cheers..........A proud Daddy.
Monday, August 18, 2003 We had conducted a
USG and the kid is fine but the only thing the doctor mentioned that the
baby is in the 'Breech' position, upside down. The kid is weighing
almost 1 kilogram now. My wife who is now in the 7th month of her
pregnancy had not put a single ounce of weight until she was in the 5th
month. She has now put on enough weight as is around 63Kgs.
The doctor has in fact asked her to cut down on fatty food items. We
are scheduled to meet the doc very soon as the frequency of visits have
increased now.
Saturday, July 19, 2003 Just thought I would
update you with our recent visit to the doc this Saturday. My wife
is doing pretty well and has put on around 4 kgs. in the last one-month.
She had not put even a single kilogram since the time she had conceived.
The doctor is happy with the progress. The Ultrasound had indicated
that size of the fibroid had increased from 7cms to around 8 cms. My
wife is currently in the 6th month of her pregnancy. The doc has
given a tentative due date as 15th November 2003. Just waiting
for the D-day.
(Update from Bombay,
India - Monday, May 19, 2003 Just thought I will
update you about our last visit to obstetrician. My wife is
currently in the 14th Week of pregnancy. She seems to have improved
very much with regards to her diet. Her weight has increased by
around 1.5kgs to 55kgs(since last 25 days). She has that vomiting
sensation pretty regularly. The doc has prescribed some regular medicines
and was happy with her progress. Incidentally, almost 4 weeks back my wife
had complained for a severe pain in the abdomen and was kept under
observation in the hospital. The doc has tentatively given the expected
date of delivery as 15th November. She now has resumed work after a
months leave.
Hi, I need your advice about the above. My wife who is 28 years old and 7 weeks pregnant now has been identified as having a fibroid outside the uterus. The fibroid is around 7cm in size. I need to know
a) Will it harm my wife in any way now or in the future?
I will be very grateful if you can respond to me as soon as possible.
I thank you in anticipation of your expert advice.
I have some
discouraging news. My FSH level is at 17 and I'm only 34.
It's been a year and a 1/2 since my UAE and I'm in early menopause.
Also, I think I'm passing tissue from my fibroid. I don't mean
to be gross but I have 'stuff' coming out with pangs in my left side.
The 'stuff' is similar to a yeast infection but w/o the itching, etc.
Have you heard of this? I read that 2% of women may pass their
fibroid tissue... but a year and a 1/2 later, I can't imagine..
My doctor said the fibroid died from the inside out so the shell is still
in tact and you can still see the tumor on a CAT scan taking up a lot of
my uterus.

Remember me?
I always think about you and wonder how you are. I am fully
recovered and have lighter bleeding but still a few clots, this time the
size of dimes rather than half dollars. My periods are regular and
now I am really interested in researching women who have had successful
pregnancies since UAE.
Monday, April 21, 2003 Hi! Here is my journal: Day one: April 15, 2003 (date of UAE procedure) - They put a catheter in me fully conscious which was uncomfortable but not terrible. Once I received the shot of anesthesia I was out. I don't remember anything until I woke up in my hospital room. I remember nurses showing me how to push a button for pain, my mom and son feeding me ice chips, and crying a lot. I remember complaining of pain but I was not able to stay conscious for long enough to click the morphine every ten minutes...so I clicked it when I could. The morphine started making me itch terribly so the nurse gave me a shot, which helped. Eventually, my Dr. ordered something different than morphine because I was itching so badly. My mom and son left early because I didn't want my son to "see me like that." So I was basically alone with the nurses, which was not great. Day two: I woke up in the hospital feeling more alert but still uncomfortable and having a terrible pain in my bladder, like a UTI (urinary tract infection). I called the nurse to explain and she saw that my catheter was backed up (terrible, terrible) and she didn't seem to think it was a big deal that my bladder felt like it was going to explode! The nurses were not my favorite! This 'backing up' ultimately led to a urinary track infection, which I still suffer from as we speak. By 4:00 I was released and the car ride was pretty rough - a lot of bumps and aches. At home, I pretty much needed to be nursed for 3 days following. Luckily my mother is staying with me, she tried to feed me though I resisted a lot, encouraged me to bathe, etc. By day 3 the pain was terrible but I could not tell if it was the embolization or constipation. I had not gone to the bathroom and I had the worst stabbing pains. Looking back, I'm sure it was gas. My Dr. prescribed me a laxative, which helped when everything else failed. Once that 'problem' was taken care of, things got easier. For those women who are going to experience this is the future, I think this is the biggest deal! You confuse the gas/bloating with the UAE and think it’s worse than it is. I think the hospitals should give us an enema or something before we check out? Anyway, I was sent home with Oxycontin and Percocet, but I stopped the oxy only after day 3 because I found out it can cause constipation and therefore is an enemy!!! Today, I still suffer from a low-grade fever and weakness but not much pain. I'm bleeding a little and have what I would call 'menstrual cramps' though it's not 'that time.' I always feel like I could go to the bathroom both from the UTI and constipation but I often get there with little results. I found that a heating pad works wonders on the pain - as well as for the fever when you have the chills. I tried to walk a little yesterday and go for a car ride but it felt terrible. I'm not going to be up for that again for another day or so. However, I can walk around my apartment (no stairs, etc.) very well. I cannot wait to see if this worked. My Dr. wants to see me in 2-3 months for another pelvic MRI to see if there was shrinkage. I can't wait!!!! After day 3 I was cursing this treatment but
today, I'm hopeful...I just hope it worked! -
(Update from Monday, March 31, 2003
Hi Hope,
I wanted to say THANKS for making this
website available. I am a 25 year old who was just diagnosed with
a large, 12x11x7, fibroid. I had my ultrasound done two days
ago, and could not see my doctor right away. The nurse that gave
me the ultrasound was not very pleasant and did not give me any
information. Of course, I was freaking out!!
Last year I had a horrible case of PID (pelvic inflammatory disease) and then I developed bladder problems. Although my bladder problems got better, things still weren't right. So after having my yearly done 2 weeks ago, my doctor knew something was wrong and sent me for the ultrasound. I came home from the ultrasound and
got onto the internet right away. I researched many sites, but
then I found yours. Your website has made me feel that I am not
alone, and that other woman have gone through this and have been able to
improve their quality of life. I just wanted to say "thank you
from the bottom of my heart"!!! Your website has given me hope and
comfort!
Many hugs. - Reading, PA |
