Before the doctor consultation: I
realize all of us say, "I know what I want to ask and I don't need
to write down my questions before seeing the doctor." Do you really remember every
question and concern? Do you
forget some of the questions because you are nervous or upset? Sure you do, it is hard to keep
everything straight in your mind when confronted with this disease. After the doctor consultation: Ok – you have asked the questions you have on your list. Did the doctor make you feel secure to make a decision on the spot? Did that “gut” feeling deep inside of you feel content with going through with the uterine fibroid treatment you talked about? If you answer “NO” to the questions do not feel bad – that just means you might need to research OR go for a second opinion before deciding. (If you go for a second or third opinion make sure to go to a doctor that has no affiliation with your current doctor.) Remember
you are not alone in this; many women ask for a second opinion and are
happy they did. You want to
go into this procedure, whichever you and your doctor end up deciding on,
with peace of mind. Go ahead,
ask the questions and see the doctors till you get the solution you are
looking for to handle this problem. This
Uterine Fibroid Support Group is here for you so please feel free to
express your concerns.
Everyone needs a person to lean on, to talk to, and to be supportive
through a difficult time in her/his life.
